Description
Balmoral House is an early 19th-century house located on Church Street in Staithes. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a roof that has been renewed with modern concrete tiles, along with stone copings and end brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and a basement, with three windows that are wooden sashes without bars, set in architraves beneath stone lintels. To the right, there is an added three-storey projecting square bay window. The basement, which is rendered below a band, includes an original Yorkshire sash window on the left. Access to the house is via four steps leading to a panelled door situated in a pedimented doorcase with a reeded architrave. The rear elevation features a round-arched staircase window with a radial head.
