Description

This ice house, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 10 metres north-east of the Dry Bridge in Hackness. The exterior is constructed of rusticated sandstone, while the interior features orange-red brick laid in English garden wall bond. The roof is made of stone flags and header bond brick. The structure is circular in shape and sunk into the ground, with a low doorway positioned to the north. It has a conical roof that includes a square opening at the apex.
