Description

The Keyhaven War Memorial is a First World War memorial built in 1919, with later additions for the Second World War. It features a timber cross mounted on a painted stone base. The memorial has a stepped octagonal base leading to a tapered square pedestal, topped with a timber cross that includes a small Corpus Christi. A pitched roof made of timber boards shelters the crucifix. On the pedestal, there is a metal plaque inscribed with ‘1914 – 1918’ along with the names of five local men who served and died, followed by the words ‘IN PEACE’. Below this, a smaller plaque bears a single name and the inscription ‘1939 – 1945’.
