Description

This is a tombchest dating from 1804, located 15 metres north of the north chapel of the Church of St John in Boldre. It is made of stone and has a rectangular shape. The top slab features an inscription dedicated to William Gilpin, who was the rector from 1777 and was known as a travel writer and water-colourist.
