Description
Berryholme Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone later alterations. It features roughcast rendered walls and a green slate roof laid in diminishing courses. The building has three round chimneys and a crow stepped gable on the left side. At the center of the front, there is a two-storey gabled porch with a slated roof, which includes a 20th-century glazed outer door. Inside, there is a heavy oak boarded inner door, likely with original hinges, set in a heavy chamfered oak surround with a fanlight above. On either side of the porch, there is a 19th-century timber window with six panes, each having a single opening light in an iron frame. The upper floor features one six-paned window and one three-paned window of similar design. The interior includes a circular oak staircase, which may be hiding an original stone stair, and a stone newel. There is also an oak panelled door and surround in a bedroom, with a frieze initialled and dated R. and E.K. 1644, as well as a bressummer in the living room.
