Description
Beach Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, likely with its walls raised and roof replaced in the 18th century. It is rendered over random rubble and features a thatched roof that is hipped to the right and half-hipped to the left. There is a large stepped stone lateral stack to the left of the entrance, and a rebuilt external stack at the left gable end, which is concealed by a single-storey lean-to addition. The plan consists of three cells and a cross passage, with an outshut at the rear. The cottage has two storeys and is arranged in a 2:1 bay configuration. The first floor has two and three-light 19th-century casement windows, while the ground floor features a similar three-light window and a four-light ovolo moulded mullioned window to the left of the stack, along with a small square-headed light for the hearth. To the right of the heavy chamfered four-centred arch head doorframe, there is a two-light window and a 17th-century framed door. There is another entrance on the left return. The interior has not been seen but likely contains features of interest.
