Description

Nos 12 and 14 High Street date to the 17th century, with later alterations. The building is rough-cast with pantile roofing, and brick stacks. No. 14 has two windows. The first floor has a three-light leaded casement with ovolo moulded wood mullions. The ground floor features a three-light casement to the left and an eight-light angular bay to the right. A tiled pent roof covers the bay, extending as a hood over the central door and the left-hand window. The doorway has a good square head, oak ovolo moulded frame, and a ribbed door. No. 12 has three windows to the first floor: one is an eight-light leaded casement (part of No. 14), another is a later three-light casement, and the third is a single-light casement, all leaded. A modern four-light mullioned casement with leaded lights is on the right-hand ground floor, and there’s a gabled porch with an arched outer opening and a tiled roof. The central doorway has a heavy chamfered and pointed-arch frame.
