Description

The Melcland chest tomb, located approximately 3 metres north of the Church of St Andrew, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1730 in memory of Thomas Melcland. It is made of granite ashlar and features plain sides with a flat soffit-chamfered lid. The lid is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, which records the death of Thomas Melcland in 1730.
