Description
The forecourt gateposts, dated 1714, are located approximately 25 metres north-west of Oxenham Manor. These tall granite ashlar gateposts are three in number and serve to define a pedestrian walkway on the left and a carriageway on the right. Each gatepost is a monolithic structure, square in section, featuring soffit-moulded caps and ball finials. The left post is inscribed with the initials of William Oxenham, the centre post displays his arms, and the right post bears the date 1714. Additionally, all posts have decorative incisions resembling curved brackets below.
