Description

This is an 18th-century headstone located approximately 45 metres north of the Church of St Andrew in South Tawton. It is made of granite and features an upright slab that stands about 450mm tall, topped with a low elliptical head. The front of the headstone is carved with a winged cherub's head, and it includes an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. While most of the inscription is legible, the surname is not, and the date of death has become obscured.
