Description

This is a headstone dated 1776, located approximately 18 meters west of the south aisle of the Church of St. Andrew in South Tawton. It commemorates George Dey and is made of granite. The upright slab stands about 600 millimeters high and features a round head. The top of the front is carved with a stylized winged cherub's head. The inscription is in large upper and lower case lettering, noting the death of George Dey in 1776.
