Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres southeast of Dunnabridge Pound Farmhouse, likely dates from the 17th century. It features granite rubble walls that include some very large blocks, particularly at the base. The roof is half-hipped and covered with corrugated iron, with rough coping stones at the gable ends. The barn has a rectangular single-room layout, probably with a central threshing floor. In front of the barn, there is a late 19th century or early 20th century shippon that has been added as a lean-to. The barn is a single storey. On the side facing the farmhouse, the barn has a lean-to shippon that runs along the length of its front wall, featuring a wide, roughly central opening. On the opposite side, there is a small granite-framed light located to the left of centre. Inside, there is a central raised paved area in the floor, likely used for threshing, and the roof is pegged and dates from the 19th century. This building is part of a very traditional and unspoilt small moorland farm group.
