Description

This headstone, dated 1708, is located approximately 14 metres north-west of the north aisle of the Church of St. Andrew in South Tawton. It commemorates Thomas Sarland and is made of granite. The upright slab stands about 600 millimetres high and features a low elliptical head. The front has a plain inscribed border and is inscribed with neat Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, recording Thomas's death in 1708.
