Description
The range of farm buildings located immediately south of Old Brook Farmhouse dates from the 18th century. Constructed from stone rubble with granite quoins and arches, these buildings feature slate roofs and are arranged around three sides of a farmyard.
The barn on the east side has a hipped roof and includes a shippen on the ground floor, along with external stairs leading to a wide barn door on the first floor, which is sheltered by a slated canopy. The ground floor features shippen doors, and there is a loft door in the end wall, all with cambered granite arches. Adjacent to the barn is a polygonal horse engine house, also with a hipped roof and slit windows.
The shippen and stable range on the south and west sides of the yard are lower, with gable-ended roofs, ground floor shippen doors, and windows, all featuring cambered granite arches, as well as loft doors above. At the north-west end, there is a cart shed consisting of two bays.
