Description
Huckworthy Bridge is a bridge over the River Walkham, dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century, with some later repairs. It is constructed from granite and slatestone rubble, featuring squared granite cutwaters and arches, along with granite coping on the parapet walls. The bridge has two arches: a narrower two-centred arch to the north with two plain orders, and a wider similar arch to the south. The bridge spans approximately 15 metres and is about 2.5 metres wide. The parapet walls are around 80 centimetres high, sloping back at each end and decreasing in height towards the north and south. The parapet extends about 4 metres to the southeast, 20 metres to the southwest (rebuilt in the 19th century), 8 metres to the northeast, and 4 metres to the northwest.
