Description
Dockwell Farmhouse and the adjoining outbuilding are located in Widecombe-in-the-Moor and date from the early to mid 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed from granite rubble and features a slated roof, while the outbuilding is covered with corrugated iron. The farmhouse has a stone stack with thatch weatherings on the right-hand gable and another stack on the ridge near the left-hand gable. It has a double-depth plan with a rear section that has a catslide roof and is two storeys high. The front of the house is symmetrical with three sash windows. There is a porch in the center supported by granite columns, although the hood has been replaced. The entrance features a six-panel door, with the two lowest panels being flush. The outbuilding has two doorways with flat arches made of roughly-shaped granite voussoirs, a row of pigeon-holes under the eaves, and two ventilation slits, along with additional slits in the right-hand gable wall.
