Description

This is a headstone dated 1793, located approximately 15 metres north-west of the north aisle of the Church of St. Andrew in South Tawton. Made of granite, the upright slab stands about 600mm tall and features a low elliptical head. The front of the headstone has a simple incised border and is inscribed with neat Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of John Long in 1793.
