Description

Old Court House, also known as Willowstream, is a late 17th-century building with a front dating from the mid-18th century, although part of it is now obscured by a modern single-storey factory. The front is made of ashlar and features two storeys. It has a canted bay with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars and moulded embrasures. The central window on the first floor is framed by a Gibbs surround, and the doorway is round-arched with a triple keystone.

The remainder of the building is constructed from hammer-dressed rubble and has pitched stone roofs. All windows are mullioned casements, with those on the north side featuring hoodmoulds. There are remnants of two 18th-century sash windows on the north side, which are partly blocked, and one completely blocked sash window on the south side. The south side displays a 17th-century string course, part of an 18th-century modillioned eaves cornice, and one mid-18th-century lead rainwater head.

To the east, there is an 18th-century extension, mostly hidden by the factory, which is also made of ashlar and has two storeys with a blocked balustrade concealing the roof and plain window embrasures. Further east is a mid-19th-century extension that is three storeys high, made of ashlar and featuring plain string courses, topped with a modern hipped roof. Old Court House, No 7, and No 6 are part of a group of buildings.
