Description
New Mills Court is a wing of a mill building dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, which was reconstructed as a freestanding house in the early 20th century. The building features ashlar and coursed rubble with a stone roof that is hipped at the south-west end.
On the south-west elevation, there is a tripartite window on the ground floor, originally sashed but now fitted with early 20th-century "Ipswich" windows, where the upper lights have glazing bars. This elevation also includes a plain stringcourse, a double window on the first floor now with plate glass sashes, and a moulded eaves cornice. The south-east and north-east elevations incorporate re-used 17th-century or early 18th-century mullioned casements with a continuous hoodmould. The north-west elevation was rebuilt in the early 20th century. The interior dates from the early 20th century as well. This building is included for group value with Old Court and No 7.
