Description

The Stroud Poor Law Institution, built in 1836, is a notable example of ashlar construction featuring pitched stone roofs. This three-storey building is designed as a double panopticon, with administrative buildings located in the center. It includes a chapel that has a cupola, Gothick windows, and remnants of internal wall paintings. Additionally, there is a superintendent's house added in 1899 and a lock-up that contains cells and a Dead Room.
