Description

This is an 18th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1 meter south of the Smith monument, near the Church of St. Swithin in Brookthorpe. The tomb is made of limestone and features lyre ends, each with a central oval inscription panel surrounded by a Rococo design and a cherub's head above. On the south side, there are carved floral panels flanking a rectangular inscription panel with a raised border, while the north side has an oval panel. The inscriptions on both panels are currently illegible. The tomb has a cyma moulded top, but the base is no longer visible as of January 1985.
