Description
This is a mill built in the early 19th century, with a late 19th-century extension. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a tiled roof. The main structure has three bays and two and a half storeys, while the extension is a single-storey, two-bay addition.
The facade facing the road includes a boarded stable door on the left side of the original section, which has a cambered brick arch above it. There is a 20-pane window to the right, where the center-pivot opening section has been replaced with a single pane of glass, and the right half of the original window has been bricked up, all under a cambered brick arch. To the right, there is a similar window and blocking, mirrored to the left, along with a boarded door beneath a cambered brick arch.
Behind the gable, there is a short brick wall that once supported the roof and shields the undershot wheel. On the first floor, there is a central opening with a cambered brick-on-end arch, a 20-pane window on the left, and a boarded door on the right. The eaves project slightly, and there is a central hipped dormer with a three-light window, each light containing 12 panes. The gable features a parapet with saddleback brick copings and a two-light casement window on the left return, also under a cambered brick arch.
To the left, the single-storey wing has double boarded doors on the right under a cambered brick arch and an ordinary boarded door on the left, with eaves matching the main block. Inside, the ground floor is stone-paved, and the vertical drive and cogwheels are still intact. The top floor can be accessed by a ladder and contains grain bins with a raised walkway in the center at tie beam level, supported by queen-strut trusses.
