Description
The stables at Poultmoor Farm are a stable block that includes a granary and loft above, likely built in the 1790s or very early 19th century. The structure is made of random coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins and features a stone slate roof. It consists of a single long range with two gables at the east end, each gable having a loft door and a flight of ten stone steps leading up, with a kennel hole under each step facing into the center. The loft on the left side contains original wooden corn bins from the granary. There are three stable doors and one window located between the stairs, with two doors to the right that have stone arches above them. To the right of the right-hand stair, there is a central door with a stone arch and flanking square windows, while timber lintels are used where there is no stone arch. The south end of the building features an original implement or cart shed with a twin-bay opening, divided by a stone pier, and has a square pitch hole above.
