Description

This is a late 17th-century malt house, with a boundary wall connecting to the Seymour House Hotel. The building is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble, topped with a Cotswold stone roof. It has two storeys and features mid-19th century gabled dormers. The front elevation has three windows, with 2- and 4-light stone mullioned details, now fitted with modern leaded casements. The right-hand ground floor window has been extended downwards in the 20th century. To the left of centre on the ground floor is a bay window with glazing bars. A four-centred arch doorway is located to the left of centre, leading to a mid-19th century door with a transom light. A boundary wall, constructed of cut and squared rubble, runs approximately 100 yards to the rear, connecting with the Seymour House Hotel. The rear of the malt house features a large stepped chimney and a 18th-century wing with three dormers and a gable over the entrance door.
