Description
The John Book Tomb, located immediately to the south of the church, dates from 1790. It is a chest tomb that may have originally had a bale over it. The tomb features a central wreathed tablet on its long sides, adorned with carved spandrels depicting skulls and cherubs. High relief cherubs are positioned at the ends. The most notable aspect of the tomb is the high relief statuettes set in arched recesses at the corners, following the tradition of the John Jordan tomb.
