Description
Colebrook Cottage, along with its gate piers and railings, was built in 1861 and is named on a carved panel at the front. It was originally constructed as a police house by Admiral Sir Edward Collier. The building is now a single cottage, though it was originally a semi-detached pair. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring coursed rubble and a slate roof, with a scalloped bargeboard and eaves. The cottage has two three-light windows with four-centre arch heads, complete with mullions and drips. The entrance is located at the gable end to the north, while the south entrance has been converted into a window. The attic gables are illuminated by Tudor arch windows with Gothic glazing.
In front of the cottage, there are two gate piers and two similar piers for the railings. These piers are rusticated and have moulded and pyramidal capping, all four being set diagonally.
