Description
The stable attached to The Glebe is a building dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from thinly bedded limestone with dressed stone quoins. The roof has stone slate on the pitch facing the churchyard and concrete tiles on the opposite side. The building has a rectangular plan and features two stable doors set within segmental-headed surrounds. There are four single lights on the ground floor, and stone steps lead up to a plank door to the loft at the right-hand end. To the right of the doorway, there are three rows of pigeon holes with projecting landings below. A small window is located below the eaves on the left, and there is a blocked pitching window at the far left. A square block sundial is set at an angle at the south-west corner. The left gable end has a two-light window within a segmental-headed surround, and both gable ends feature flat coping. The south-facing roof pitch has three small skylights, while the north roof pitch has two 20th-century skylights. The interior has not been inspected.
