Description
This building is a former barn with a coach house at the southeast end, now used as garages, located approximately 10 meters north of Croft Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of random rubble limestone with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof. The southeast end features a pair of recessed garages, a large segmental arch, and raking buttresses that are flush with the end wall. A single piece of tufa limestone is set centrally over the arch, and the roof is half-hipped at the end with a ball finial.
Access to the loft is provided by a doorway with a timber lintel and a plank door on the southwest side, reached by stone steps with nosing to the top landing. There is a small timber window to the right and exposed beam ends. On the northeast side, there is a small plank door with a timber lintel. The northwest gable end is blank. The roof structure consists of a tie-beam and collar truss with two rows of purlins. There are 20th-century garage doors set back from the arch. The building is included for its group value.
