Description
This tomb chest, dating from around 1790, is located approximately 1 meter east of the south porch of the Church of St Mary in Cheltenham. It commemorates Thomas Gardner, who died in 1786, his wife Elizabeth, who died in 1790, and their children, who passed away between 1749 and 1826. The chest is made of ashlar stone and features a Neo-Classical design. It has a rectangular shape with indented corners, fielded inscription panels, and a hipped top.
