Description

The mews arch with an attached wall and railings is located beside Number 1 Lansdown Terrace in Cheltenham. It was built around 1834, likely by the architects R.W. and C. Jearrad, who also constructed Lansdown Terrace. The structure is made of ashlar and brick, featuring iron railings. The archway is tall and wide, with an impost mould, keystone, label cornice, and a parapet. The south-west wall of Number 1 Lansdown Terrace mirrors the extension of Number 7 Lansdown Terrace; it is slightly set back and lower than the archway, with blind windows, a band course, cornice, and parapet. The railings are designed with arrowhead motifs and urn finials, extending approximately 3 meters in length and shaped in an L-plan. The arch and railings are adjacent to Number 1 Lansdown Terrace on Malvern Road.
