Description

Corscombe Down Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid 18th century. It features rendered stone rubble walls, possibly with some cob, and has a gable-ended thatch roof with two stone rubble stacks at the gable ends. The building has a symmetrical two-storey front with three windows, which are early 19th century 12-pane hornless sashes. The central entrance has a 19th-century plank door that is sheltered by a doorhood supported on decorative wrought iron brackets. Inside, both rooms have open fireplaces; the left-hand fireplace is larger and has granite jambs with a high wooden lintel.
