Description

The Battishill headstone, dated 1712, is located approximately 0.5 metres south of the nave of the Church of St Michael in Spreyton. This granite headstone is an upright round-headed slab that stands about 600mm tall. The front features a carved winged cherub's head above an inscription in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of William Battishill in 1712.
