Description
Whitehall is a small house dating from the 17th century, featuring colour-washed rubble walls and a gable-ended wood shingle roof. It has two gable end rendered rubble stacks, with the right-hand stack projecting and containing an oven. The house has a two-room plan, possibly with a central passage, and each room is heated by a gable end stack. The right-hand room projects forward in a gabled bay. There is likely a 19th-century extension at the rear.
The building is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front, which probably features original two-light granite mullions. The left-hand window on the first floor is set within a small gable, while the right-hand window is located in the gabled projection. A 20th-century rubble lean-to porch is positioned at the centre and reuses a 17th-century moulded arched granite doorway. The porch also includes re-used single light granite windows on its front and left-hand walls. Inside the porch, the doorway to the house has chamfered granite jambs and a 20th-century plank door. On the right-hand gable end, to the left of the stack on the ground floor, there is a two-light granite mullion window. Attached to the left-hand end of the house is a wide segmental arched granite doorway with roll moulding.
