Description
This is a barn, now converted into a billiard room, located approximately 12 metres north of Bush House. It likely dates from the 18th century and is constructed of plastered cob on stone rubble footings, topped with a thatched roof. The barn is a small threshing barn that faces southwest towards the rear courtyard of Bush House. The front features a central large double doorway, which is not quite full height, and is flanked by short projecting midstrey walls. The roof is hipped at both ends.
Inside, a high ceiling was added in the 20th century, and the roof is supported by A-frame trusses with pegged lap-jointed collars. This barn, along with other thatched farm buildings associated with Bush House, contributes to an attractive group in the village.
