Description
This is a pair of adjacent Beere headstones located approximately 3 metres south-west of the chancel of the Church of St Giles. They date from the early 18th century and are made of granite. Both headstones have similarly shaped tops, featuring carvings of winged cherub heads, and the inscriptions are in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The western headstone is about 650 millimetres high and commemorates Stefanie Beere, who died in 1707. The eastern headstone stands around 300 millimetres tall and marks the death of William Beere, although the date of his death is not visible.
