Description
The Bell Inn and attached house are two buildings that now function as an inn and a house. They date from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exterior features colourwashed render over cob and stone, topped with a gabled thatch roof and slates at the rear. There are external stone end stacks and a 19th-century brick ridge stack.
The house on the left has a two-unit plan and is symmetrical with a three-window range. It features a mid-19th-century four-panelled door set in a lean-to porch, along with mid to late 19th-century two-light casements that have glazing bars. The Bell Inn on the right also has a symmetrical three-window range and includes a 20th-century door set in a late 19th-century gabled porch with a round-arched entry. The inn has late 19th-century two- and three-light casements and a 20th-century outshut at the rear, which adjoins a 17th-century rear wing. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
