Description
The Braginton chest tomb, dated 1842, is located approximately 8 metres north of the aisle of the Church of St Giles in the Wood. This chest tomb is made of hard purple-coloured metamorphic stone and has a rectangular shape. It rests on a moulded plinth, and its flat lid features moulded edges. Each side of the tomb contains a single rectangular panel. The southern panel is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the deaths of George Braginton in 1842 and Richard Braginton in 1850.
