Description
There are two adjacent headstones located approximately 8 metres south of the aisle of the Church of St Giles. Both headstones date from the late 18th century and are made of slate with upright slabs that have square heads. Each is inscribed with Roman serif lettering in both upper and lower case. The eastern headstone stands about 450 millimetres high and commemorates Nicholas Fitzbowden, who died in 1797. The western headstone is approximately 600 millimetres high and marks the death of Elizabeth Fitzbowden in 1800.
