Description

The Saltern monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 4 meters southeast of the south door of the chancel of the Church of St George. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of coursed and squared slatestone with a chamfered plinth. The slate slab on top is inscribed, commemorating Elizabeth Saltern, who died in 1669, and her daughter Susanna, who also died in 1669.
