Description

The Turner headstone, dated 1797, is located approximately 35 metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles in St Giles in the Wood. This headstone commemorates Winifred Turner and is made of slate. It features an upright square-headed slab that stands about 650 millimetres high. The inscription is framed by an egg and dart pattern and is written in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, detailing the death of Winifred Turner in 1797. The headstone has been repositioned to its current location.
