Description
Oxenham Court is a house built in the mid-19th century, featuring stone rubble walls and a hipped slate roof, with rendered brick stacks at either end. The building has a double depth plan, consisting of two rooms wide, with a central entrance hall and service rooms located at the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high and presents a symmetrical front with three windows. These windows are 19th-century, three-light, small-paned casements that have transoms, stone hoodmoulds above, and projecting stone architraves and cills. A central porch made of timber and glass has a flat roof with a projecting moulded cornice, and it features double doors with panels and a six-panel door behind. The eaves cornice is supported by brackets, with lion masks placed at intervals along it, and the corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated quoins.
The interior was inaccessible during the survey, but it is likely to be largely unaltered, preserving its original joinery. This house was probably constructed by the Clinton Estate.
