Description
This listing describes a group of six headstones located in the churchyard, approximately 4 to 7 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. George. The monuments date from the mid to late 18th century.
Among them is a slatestone headstone dedicated to Elizabeth Hookway, who died in 1759, featuring an inscription set within an architectural frame. Next to it is a segmental-arched headstone for Mary Hookway, who passed away in 1795. The remaining four headstones, also from the mid to late 18th century, are inscribed with fine poetic elegies.
