Description
The Brinmead headstone, dated 1788, is located approximately 31 metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles in the Wood. This headstone commemorates Grace Brinmead and is made of slate. It features an upright slab that stands about 450 millimetres tall with rounded corners. At the top, there is a carved winged cherub's head, flanked by scrolled decoration, with additional scrolls down the sides. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, noting the death of Grace Brinmead in 1788 and her daughter Mary. The stone has been repositioned to its current location.
