Description
Lilleycrop headstone is located approximately 35 metres south-south-west of the tower of the Church of St Giles. This headstone, dated 1792, commemorates John Lilleycrop. It is made of slate and features an upright square-headed slab that stands about 1.2 metres high. At the top of the headstone, there is a carved winged cherub's head, and a single wavy line frames the inscription, which is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. The inscription records the death of John Lilleycrop in 1792 and mentions some of his relatives. The stone has been relocated to its current position.
