Description
The orangery at Ugbrooke is a building from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and brick, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The structure is rectangular in shape and features a central entrance. Most of the building is made of stone rubble, but the wall sections around the windows and doors are brick, indicating it may have been adapted from an earlier structure.
This single-storey building has a symmetrical front with five bays, including a central 20th-century two-leaf front door beneath an original round-headed fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. On either side of the entrance, there are two tall sash windows with rounded heads and intersecting glazing bars. Brick voussoirs frame all four openings, though some glazing is missing from the windows. The interior is plain. This orangery is a charming garden building that has group value with Ugbrooke Park.
