Description

Ideford Arch is a road bridge built in 1810, designed to carry one public road over another, following the diversion of the original turnpike. It is constructed of ashlar limestone with stone rubble parapets. The bridge features a single span with a segmental arch that includes a keystone. It is noted to be the first public road bridge of its kind in the country.
