Description

This is a cross shaft located approximately 300mm east of the vestry of the Church of St Saviour in Dartmouth. It is likely from the 15th century and made from a single piece of granite. The shaft stands about 1.25 meters high and has a slight taper. Its corners are hollow-chamfered and are stopped just below the top with distinctive ball stops.
