Description
The summerhouse, built in 1929 by Rex Gardner for Dartington Hall, is located about 90 metres south-southeast of Dartington Hall. Constructed from timber and local limestone, it features a conical thatched roof with a circular stone rubble stack at the apex, which has weathering and a slate cap. The building is single storey with a rectangular plan and a semi-circular loggia at the front, supported by five large rustic wooden posts. At the back of the loggia, there are double doors on the left, a plank wall on the right, and a stone stack in the centre. The left side has a large five-light metal frame casement window, and all windows are fitted with leaded panes. The interior has not been inspected.
