Description
The gatepiers and garden boundary wall immediately east of Great Stert Farm House date from the late 17th century. They consist of low stone rubble walls that enclose a rectangular garden in front of the farmhouse. The walls rise up to a central gateway, which features tall ashlar gatepiers. These gatepiers have a moulded cornice and tall pyramid caps topped with ball finials. On the outer (south) side of each pier, there are richly carved heraldic achievements that display the date 1674 along with the initials H over I.P.
