Description

This is an unidentified chest tomb from around the mid-19th century, located approximately 12 metres east-southeast of the Church of St Mary in Diptford. The tomb is made of limestone and features panelled sides with a moulded lid that has an illegible, worn inscription. Surrounding the tomb are iron railings that include year heads on the shafts and cast iron moulded standards at the corners and in the centre of the long sides. The railings are topped with cast iron urns that have ring handles.
